BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Concord University women's cross country team placed fifth at the Hokie Invite and was the first Division II team Friday night on the campus of Virginia Tech.
The Mountain Lions tallied a team total of 149 points.
Senior
Bailey Knowles led the effort for the Mountain Lions as she crossed in 18
th, completing the 4,000-meter course in 15:20. Fellow senior
Karleigh Thompson was 17 second behind Knowles as she covered the course in 15:37, placing 24
th.

Aidan Payton Knowles were the next two runners for CU as the finished 42

rdand ran 16:13 and 16:14, respectively. Concord's top five was rounded out by freshman
Kyla Marshall who debuted collegiately with a time of 16:46. Marshall was 56
thoverall.
Seniors
Kaylin Kessinger and
Taylor Hamm were right behind Marshall as they crossed in 58
thand 59
thoverall with showings of 16:59 and 17:01.
Sophomroe Lindsey Cumming finished 71
stwith a time of 17:48. Freshman Brittany Vaugt ran 19:21, and fellow freshman Briana Parson clocked a time of 19:38.
The Mountain Lions are back in action next Friday at the Golden Bear Classic hosted by WVU Tech in Beckley, West Virginia.
