The game's lone run in the first three innings came on a fielder's choice in the second.
WVWC hit a home run in each inning from the fourth to the sixth with two three-run blasts and a two-run homer in the fifth.
Wesleyan's Hannah Vet held Concord to two hits in the first game, singles from freshman catcher / outfielder

Game 2: West Virginia Wesleyan 8 – Concord 6
WVWC used a five-run fourth to overtake the Mountain Lions as it went onto sweep the doubleheader.
Each team came out swinging early as both offenses produced three runs in the first.
Back-to-back triples from sophomore pitcher / outfielder
Darby Fitzpatrick and sophomore second baseman / shortstop
Jenna Witt got the Mountain Lions on the board before Witt scored on sophomore pitcher / first baseman

In its next at-bat, Concord untied the game as Witt brought home Fitzpatrick once again, this time after back-to-back doubles by the duo.
However, CU's lead would only hold up for a half an inning as the Bobcats hit back-to-back homers in a five-run third inning to propel them to an 8-4 advantage.
But, the Mountain Lions rallied. Pritchard scored on a double steal attempt in the fifth to draw within 8-5. And Starnes came around to score after a leadoff double in the sixth.
Witt would lead off the top of the seventh with a single, bringing the tying run to the plate. However, WVWC turned a double play to end the threat for CU.
Fitzpatrick, Watson and Witt each had a multi-hit contest. Witt recorded three hits, including her Division II-leading 22
nd double, and two RBI. Both of Fitzpatrick's hits were for extra bases.
Pritchard was tagged with the loss as she gave up six earned runs in two innings. Fitzpatrick allowed just one unearned run in five innings of relief with three strikeouts.
