MEC TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS
Concord begins the weekend two games ahead of Charleston for the final playoff spot in the MEC South in the upcoming MEC Tournament. However, CU holds the tiebreaker over the Golden Eagles by winning three of four games against UC this season.
Charleston plays at Shepherd and Fairmont State to finish the regular season.
Additionally, Concord can still catch UVa.-Wise for the third spot as the Cavaliers are two games ahead of the Mountain Lions, but UVa.-Wise owns the tiebreaker head-to-head.
By winning two games, CU would clinch a spot in the MEC Tournament.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Prior to Saturday's doubleheader, Concord will recognize its three seniors: catcher / designated hitter
Nicole Neri, catcher / outfielder
Chelsea Shepherd and third baseman
Alycea Watson.
Neri has appeared in 79 career games at Concord. The Elyria, Ohio native has a career batting average of .271. During her sophomore season, Neri posted her best single-season numbers with two home runs and 15 RBI and a .312 average.

Watson ranks in the top 10 in at-bats and games played in her career. The New Castle, Delaware native has appeared in 193 games, fifth all-time at Concord, and has 479 at-bats in her time in the Maroon and Gray, seventh all-time.
CU's third baseman has started 179 consecutive games at the hot corner, and is just one of two players to start all 38 games this season.
Both Neri and Watson were on the 2015 team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
On Concord's most recent road trip, sophomore second baseman / shortstop
Jenna Witt broke the program record for single-season double. Witt tallied two doubles in game one at Urbana and added three total doubles in a twinbill at Notre Dame. The Harpers Ferry, West Virginia native has racked up 21 total doubles this season.
Witt leads Division II in doubles and is eighth in the Atlantic Region in slugging percentage (.787).
Additionally, Witt is 13 points ahead of breaking the single-season batting average record at CU. Witt starts the weekend batting .451. The current record is held by Angela Mazella who batted .438 in 1997.
