MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Concord is coming off a doubleheader split with UVa.-Wise as the Mountain Lions earned a walk-off win over the Cavaliers, 4-3, in eight innings in the nightcap.

Junior first baseman Lauren Blunt slid home before a throw came from shortstop on a fielder's choice to propel CU to the split.

It was the second walk-off victory of the season for Concord, both coming in the last three home games. Junior outfielder Abby Beatty launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth versus West Liberty to give the Maroon and Gray a 6-5 win.

Against UVa.-Wise, sophomore utility Amber Stokes had a home run, a double and two RBI including the game-winning run that scored Blunt. Though Stokes has just 16 hits this season, over half have gone for extra bases (six doubles and three home runs).

Furthermore, Stokes is third on the team in RBI with 13 behind sophomore second baseman / shortstop Jenna Witt's 19 and senior third baseman Alycea Watson's 14.

Speaking of Witt, the Harpers Ferry, West Virginia native notched her 16th double of the season in game two against UVa.-Wise. Witt closed to within four doubles of Lauren Lewis' CU single-season record set in 2014. The middle infielder also leads the Atlantic Region in doubles this season.

As a team, Concord has 21 doubles at home this season in just 12 games. In Wednesday's second game, five of CU's 12 hits were doubles.

Freshman pitcher Tara Williams has become a relief specialist for the Mountain Lions. In her last four appearances that aren't starts, the Wytheville, Virginia native has only given up three earned runs in 11.2 innings that has also included eight strikeouts.

Last season, Concord was a perfect 4-0 against the two teams from Ohio. CU clipped Notre Dame in a pair of close contest, 3-2 and 3-0 before taking down Urbana 4-1 and 9-1.

Sophomore pitcher / outfielder Darby Fitzpatrick pitched a complete game versus Notre Dame last season as she scattered two runs on seven hits while striking out four batters.

In the last four games against UU, the Mountain Lions have outscored the Blue Knights 35-13.

Two seasons ago, Blunt provided a career single-game bests in hits (four) and RBI (six) in a 16-5 win at Urbana.

As a pitcher, Beatty picked a win at Urbana two seasons ago as she struck out four batters and gave up four runs in a complete-game performance.

NOTRE DAME AT A GLANCE
