ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University softball team plays four games at the Salem Tournament starting Saturday and continuing Sunday.

RECORDS
After a split with nationally-ranked Carson-Newman, Concord is 2-4 on the season
Shippensburg is 5-4. East Stroudsburg is 4-6 in 2018.
Bloomsburg is 1-3 while Edinboro will playing its first games of the season this weekend.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU defeated Carson-Newman 7-2 before falling 10-6 in eight innings to the Eagles.
Reigning Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week sophomore
Darby Fitzpatrick tossed her third complete game of the season as she needed 71 pitches to get her first win of the season.
Sophomore second baseman / shortstop
Jenna Witt helped the offensive effort with her team-best fourth and fifth RBI of the season in game one. Junior infielder Kyle Kent added two RBI versus C-N.
Sophomore utility
Amber Stokes notched her first three RBI of the season against Carson-Newman with two coming in the nightcap. Last season, Stokes had just six RBI in 15 games.
Junior outfielder
Abby Beatty launched a home run in each game of the twinbill with Carson-Newman. It was her first two homers of the season, and the 11
th and 12
th of her career which moves her into fourth all-time at Concord in home runs.
After not playing in the Salem Tournament, which is hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan, last season, CU will make a return trip in 2018.
Two seasons ago, junior pitcher / utility
Aarron Ward tossed a complete game for Concord in a win over Gannon at the Salem Tournament. The Logan, West Virginia native allowed one run on five hits.
Sunday will be the final games for the Mountain Lions before they begin conference play March 17, however, CU will still have two non-conference doubleheaders with Davis & Elkins during the remainder of the 2018 season.
SHIPPENSBURG AT A GLANCE
Meghan Klee has a team-high six RBI while Kayla Bonawitz and Chloe Collins each have five RBI.
The Raiders are 3-0 in neutral site games this season.
EAST STROUDSBURG AT A GLANCE
ESU has given up seven home runs as a pitching staff in 10 games.
Taylor Keeney is 1-1 with a 2.14 ERA in 19.2 innings in the circle.
