Charleston sports a record of 15-11 on the season and is 2-6 in MEC play.

The Yellow Jackets are 16-10 overall with a .500 mark of 4-4 against conference teams.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Thursday and Friday will be just the second and third doubleheaders of the home schedule for CU, and the first time it has played at home since February 27 against Carson-Newman.

The Mountain Lions are 1-1 at home in 2018 after splitting with C-N at the end of February.

Over the weekend, Concord split a doubleheader with Glenville State before losing two games at West Virginia Wesleyan.

In their 5-4 win over Glenville State, the Mountain Lions erased a 3-0 deficit to force extra innings and overtake GSC in nine innings. Junior outfielder Abby Beatty was responsible for a season-best two RBI in the victory that included her 13th career home run.

Sophomore pitcher / outfielder Darby Fitzpatrick tossed all nine innings, striking out a career-best six batters while picking up her fifth win of the season.

Not only has Fitzpatrick been stellar in the circle all season, over her last five games Fitzpatrick is batting .611 (11-for-18) that has included four multi-hit games.

In the nightcap against the Pioneers, sophomore utility Amber Stokes blasted her first career home run while also notching her fourth career multi-RBI game.

Sophomore second baseman / shortstop Jenna Witt continued her strong start to the MEC season. Witt recorded six hits in four games to elevate her overall average to .458, but in conference games this season she is batting .520 (13-for-25). Over the weekend, the Harpers Ferry, West Virginia native drew her four of her five walks on the season.

The Mountain Lions started the conference slate by picking up sweeps over both West Virginia State and Charleston.
Fitzpatrick and sophomore pitcher / first baseman Rachel Pritchard combined to shut out WVSU over 14 innings.

Fitzpatrick's second career shutout came in a 1-0 CU win while the Mountain Lions scored four runs in Pritchard's first career complete-game shutout.

The Mountain Lions have won 10 of their last 12 games against West Virginia State, and haven't lost at home to WVSU since a 2-0 loss at the end of the 2014 season. Three of the last four wins for CU at home over the Yellow Jackets have come in a walk-off including back-to-back games last year.

The Concord offense broke out for 20 total hits in a doubleheader win at Charleston. The first four batters in CU's lineup of Fitzpatrick, junior infielder Kylie Kent, Witt and Pritchard combined for 15 of the 20 hits as they batted .483 (15-for-31) with 12 of the 14 runs scored and six RBI.

In its four-game winning streak over West Virginia State and Charleston to conference play, the Mountain Lions did not commit an error while the other two teams combined for nine errors.

CHARLESTON AT A GLANCE
Charleston is one of four teams in the conference batting above .300 this season as it ranks third in team average at .306.

Karli Pinkerton is second in the conference in total hits with 33 while Haleigh Christopher paces the MEC in RBI with 22.

The Golden Eagles have lost seven of their last nine games with the only wins coming against West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit.

WEST VIRGINIA STATE AT A GLANCE
Since getting swept by Concord, WVSU is 4-2 that includes a sweep of West Liberty.

West Virginia State's team ERA of 2.54 ranks second in the MEC behind UVa.-Wise, and it is one of five teams in the conference with at least 100 strikeouts in the circle.

Brittany Allison and Kayleigh Thompson are tied for fourth in the conference in hits with 30 each.
