RECORDS
CU starts conference play with a mark of 3-7.
Charleston has won nine of its last 11 games and has a record of 13-5.
The Yellow Jackets enter MEC play sporting a mark of 12-6.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Concord went 1-3 at the Salem Tournament hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan in Salem, Virginia. The Mountain Lions defeated Edinboro 4-2 in the third game of their weekend tournament.
Sophomore pitcher / outfielder
Darby Fitzpatrick tossed her fourth complete game of the season against Edinboro as she gave up two unearned runs on six hits and struck out two batters.
Sophomore second baseman / shortstop
Jenna Witt continued her stellar start to the season by recording five hits at the Salem Tournament. Two of the hits for Witt came in the way of doubles to give her six doubles in 2018.
The Harpers Ferry, West Virginia native is tied for second in doubles in the MEC and is already half way to her total of 11 doubles from her freshman season.
Additionally, Witt leads the conference with a slugging percentage of .912—the only player in the MEC with a slugging percentage over .900.
Sophomore pitcher / first baseman
Rachel Pritchard had three RBI and two multi-hit games at the Salem Tournament to elevate her average from .267 to .321. All six of Pritchard's RBI on the season have come in CU's last five games.
Last season, the Mountain Lions went 2-3 against Charleston, but did eliminate the Golden Eagles from the MEC Tournament with a 2-0 victory.
During the regular season, CU defeated Charleston 6-5.
The Maroon and Gray won three of four games versus West Virginia State during the 2017 season. Concord swept the home doubleheader with two walk-off hits while splitting a twinbill at
WVSU.
Junior outfielder
Abby Beatty came up with a single to score senior catcher / outfielder
Chelsea Shepherd in the first game of last year's home contest to defeat West Virginia State 4-3.
Beatty paced the offense in the nightcap with five RBI. However, Witt came up with a walk-off, two-RBI double to help Concord erase a 6-0 deficit and win 8-7 over the Yellow Jackets in eight innings.
The Mountain Lions have won seven of the last eight games against West Virginia State with four victories coming by one run.
Two seasons ago, CU had a walk-off win against the Yellow Jackets at home as Concord came back from a 3-0 deficit in the bottom of the seventh.

Nicole Neri had an RBI during the rally while junior infielder
Kylie Kent provided the game-winning RBI in a 4-3 victory.

Laura Ashlock is an alum of Charleston and was on the 2017 UC team won the Atlantic Region.
CHARLESTON AT A GLANCE
UC is led offensively by reigning MEC Freshman of the Year Haleigh Christoper who has five home runs and 19 RBI this season.
Carlee Lucas is 7-2 in the circle with a 2.19 ERA and has 48 strikeouts in 45 innings.
Lucas and Jessie Rowe have combined for 84 or Charleston's MEC-leading 101 strikeouts.
WEST VIRGINIA STATE AT A GLANCE
WVSU has the third highest batting average in the conference at .308.
Brittany Allison paces the offense for the Yellow Jackets with three home runs and 19 RBI to go along with a .453 average.
West Virginia State is also third in the MEC in ERA at 3.01 behind UVa.-Wise and West Liberty.
