MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU was scheduled to open the season at Tusculum earlier this week, but a rainy forecast interrupted the potential season-opening doubleheader.

This will be the second straight season Concord plays at the Snowbird Freeze Out Tournament. The only opponent the Mountain Lions will see for a second consecutive year is Molloy.

The Lions were able to outlast CU as the Maroon and Gray dropped an 11-8 decision to Molloy.

Junior pitcher / utility Aarron Ward was responsible for four RBI in the contest as she launched a two-run home run and also brought in two on a base hit in the seventh inning of the contest.

Sophomore pitcher / first baseman Rachel Pritchard pitched three innings for CU last season against Molloy. Sophomore pitcher / outfielder Darby Fitzpatrick also worked in relief for Concord as she tossed a scoreless seventh inning.

Concord's second win in Myrtle Beach last season came in a five-inning victory of Lock Haven, 9-0.

The Mountain Lions scored seven runs in the third inning of the contest to put the score out of reach.

Junior outfielder / pitcher Abby Beatty drove in two runs on two different singles. Junior infielder Kylie Kent brought in a run on a bases-loaded walk in the seven-run rally during the third inning.

Throughout the Snowbird Freeze Out Tournament in 2017, Fitzpatrick worked seven innings that included a six-inning start versus Le Moyne. The Pocomoke City, Delaware native gave up just earned run in the start versus the Dolphins.

Concord will be playing Merrimack, St. Anselm and Southern New Hampshire for the first time in program history.

The only all-time meeting between CU and Molloy came last season at Myrtle Beach.
