BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Concord University men's tennis team has been tabbed to finish eighth in the Mountain East Conference, according to the poll voted upon by the conference coaches.
West Virginia Wesleyan picked up six of eight possible first-place votes and 47 total points to top the poll. Charleston (40 points) was slotted second. West Liberty (38 points) and Fairmont State (35 points) each earned a first-place vote. Shepherd (25 points) rounded out the top five.
UVa.-Wise (16 points), West Virginia State (12 points) and Concord (11 points) completed the teams ranked in the release.
CU returns four players from last year's team including number one singles player sophomore Alfonso Jimenez. The most experienced player for Concord is junior Javier Lietor. A pair of sophomores also return for the Mountain Lions, Alec Lusk and Adam Tolliver.

Joe Blankenship added three freshmen to the 2018 spring roster in Adam Kotana, Henrrique Sada and Luis Soares.
Concord begins the season against Augusta University in Georgia March 10.
