ATHENS, W.Va. - After a 10-day break from action, the Concord University women's basketball team returns to the court when it hosts West Virginia Wesleyan 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Carter Center in a Mountain East Conference clash.

The Mountain Lions are 5-3 this season and have posted a 3-2 mark in the league.
West Virginia Wesleyan is off to a 2-5 start in 2018-19 and is 2-3 in the MEC.
HIGH VOLUME SCORING
Despite losing to Glenville State on December 5, Concord posted 87 points against the Pioneers. It was the sixth time in eight games that the Mountain Lions have went over the 80-point mark this season. Heading into this weekend's game, CU is averaging 80.4 points per game which would be the highest mark in program history. Last season, Concord averaged 76.3 points per game. Andreanna Pool is pouring in 16.9 points per game which ranks 10th in the conference. Sophomore forward
Riley Fitzwater is notching 13.7 points per game. The last time Concord had three players average at least 13 points in a season for the entire year was 2005-06.
PAINT BY NUMBER
Over the last five games, Concord is scoring 82.6 points per game. The Mountain Lions have done the bulk of their damage in the paint by scoring an average of 46.8 points per game in the paint over the stretch including a season-high 60 points at Glenville State. This season, CU is scoring an average of 41.2 points per game in the paint which is 51.3 percent of the Maroon and Gray's entire point total for the season.
RECORD BOOK WATCH
Senior guard
Emily Boothe is closing in on 150 career made three-pointers. The Riner, Virginia native has connected on 146 made triples throughout her career. She would become the sixth Concord player to hit 150 three-pointers when she achieves the milestone. Additionally, Boothe is third in the MEC among active players in career made three-pointers, trailing West Liberty duo Johnie Olkosky and Brandi Beader. Over the last two seasons, Boothe has made a total of seven three-pointers in four games versus West Virginia Wesleyan. Boothe and May continue to inch their way towards 1,000 points. Boothe stands at 814 career points while May has 742 career points as just a junior. Additionally, Fitzwater needs one more point to top 500 points for her career just 36 games into her time at CU. Kenny Osborne notched his 250th career win on December 1 at West Virginia State. Only Fairmont State's Steve McDonald has more wins among active coaches in the MEC than Osborne.
MIRROR IMAGE
Last season, the Mountain Lions shot 58.6 percent in both games against WVWC as they hit 34-of-58 shots in each game, coming away with two victories. In Buckhannon, West Virginia, CU won 88-68 as May posted a then-career best 30 points on 11-for-19 shooting. Fitzwater went for 15 points, shooting 6-for-8 from the floor. In an 83-67 home win, Concord put five players in double figures. Fitzwater once again missed just two shots as she recorded 14 points on 7-for-9 shooting. May added 16 points with a 6-for-10 performance from the field. By hitting on 4-of-7 three-pointers, Boothe scored 12 points.
WITH THE ASSIST
In two victories over West Virginia Wesleyan, the Mountain Lions handed out 45 assists on 68 made field goals. Boothe had 13 assists with six in the first meeting and added seven in late January. Along with her scoring outburst, May averaged 5.5 assists in two games. After missing the first game at West Virginia Wesleyan, Pool dished out eight assists in Concord's home win over the Bobcats. Two games ago at WVSU, Pool tied her career best with eight assists once again. This season, CU ranks third in the MEC in assists per game at 18.0. Additionally, it has dished out 18 or more assists five times this season, and Concord is 4-1 in those games.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN AT A GLANCE
WVWC has league wins over Fairmont State and Shepherd which came in a span of three days. Like Concord, the Bobcats played their last game on December 5, a 59-58 loss to UVa.-Wise at home. Wesleyan does not have a single player ranked in the top 25 in scoring in the MEC. Abi Gabauer and Victoria Jackson both average 10.9 points per game to lead the Bobcats. Nicole Gilyard is adding 8.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest.
