RECORDS
CU won five straight games before the Christmas break to move to 8-3 overall and 5-1 in the MEC.

Shepherd sports a record of 6-6 this season and is 2-4 against league foes.

FSU is 8-4 overall and has an MEC mark of 4-2.

GRINDING ONE OUT
The Mountain Lions recorded an 84-80 victory over Virginia Union on December 11 for its fifth straight win.

It is the longest winning streak for CU since winning seven straight to start the 2015-16 season.

Concord downed Virginia Union despite shooting 33.8 percent (23-for-68) from the field.

It was the first time CU had been held under 35 percent from the floor since February 20, 2014, a streak of 94 consecutive games.

The last time the Mountain Lions won a game when shooting less than 35 percent from the floor was November 25, 2013 against Urbana.

The reason for Concord's win was the ability to knock down 28-of-32 foul shots, a percentage of 87.5.

It was both the highest percentage and most makes at the charity stripe for CU this season.

The last time CU made 28 or more free throws in a single game was last year's home win over West Virginia State.

Versus Virginia Union, the Mountain Lions made 10 three-pointers while holding VUU to three makes from three-point range.

THREE-POINT COMPARISON
Senior guard B.J. Hamlet knocked in six of Concord's 10 three pointers to tie a season-high.

Hamlet also tied his career best with 28 points and scored 24 points in the first half.

While making 10 triples, the Mountain Lions held Virginia Union to 3-for-19 from behind the arc.

It was the sixth straight game Concord held the opposition to seven or fewer makes from three-point range.

Additionally, CU held teams to less than 40 percent from beyond the arc in five of the six contests.

Concord ranks first in the MEC in three-point percentage defense, the only team in the league limiting teams to less than 30 percent from three-point range.

THE BEST AROUND
When junior guard Tommy Bolte suits up for Thursday's game, he will have played enough games to qualify for statistical leads not only in the MEC, but in all of Division II.

The Chillicothe, Ohio native needs to play in 75 percent of games to qualify.

If Bolte does not score a single point at Shepherd, he will still lead Division II in scoring.

The current leader in points per game in the nation is West Alabama's Charles Eaton at 28.3 point per game.

Entering play Thursday, Bolte is scoring 34.1 points per game. Bolte's 57.1 field goal percentage will rank first in the MEC and his 89.3 free throw rate will be second best.

THIEVERY
CU came up with 10 steals against Virginia Union for the second time in three games after notching 10 steals against Glenville State.

In its last three games, Concord has 27 steals which is the most in a three-game stretch since the end of last year versus Notre Dame, Urbana and Charleston.

Furthermore, it was the first time since the end of the 2014-15 season that the Mountain Lions had double-digit steals twice in a three-game span.

Against Virginia Union,  sophomore forward Trey Brisco tied a career high with two steals while freshman forward Trey Shuff set a season a career best with two steals.

Bolte came up with four steals to also tie his personal single-game high.

GETTING ON THE GLASS
Over the last two games, freshman forward Jyles Webster has pulled down a total of 17 rebounds.

The only other time Webster grabbed 15 or more rebounds in a two-game stretch this season was against Charleston and West Virginia State.

Additionally, the Chester, Virginia native had 11 rebounds in CU's exhibition at Akron.

Although, the numbers won't go into the official stats, it was a career high, and Webster became the first Concord player with double-digit rebounds this season.

Against Virginia Union, Concord had 20 offensive boards for the first time in a contest since December 2016 against Bluefield State.

Bolte had five offensive rebounds while Brisco matched Bolte with all five of his rebounds for the game coming on the offensive end.

UNKIND CONFINES
Each of the last two swings through Shepherd and Fairmont State, the Mountain Lions have been swept on the road trip.

However, during the 2014-15 season CU won both games at SU and Fairmont State.

After losing at Shepherd last season, Concord won six of its final eight games to finish the regular season.
