Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 by the University of Charleston Friday afternoon in Mountain East Conference action.
The Golden Eagles (1-1-1, 1-0-1 MEC) used a penalty kick in the 37
th minute to edge by CU (1-2, 0-2 MEC).
After not recording a shot on goal in the first half, the Mountain Lions put UC goalkeeper Zoe Zyta to work in the second half. But, Zyta was up to the task in each instance as Concord was held scoreless.
Freshman forward
Sarah Hill tallied a team-high three shots on goal including back-to-back attempts in the 68
th and 69
th minute. Hill also had a shot covered up by Zyta in the final 90 seconds of the contest.

Micharae Thompson and freshman midfielder
Courtney Wallace also had a look at goal in the match.
Freshman goalkeeper
Katie Maher stopped three of the four shots she faced in the game.
The Mountain Lions recorded more shots on goal than Charleston (6-4) and had more total shot (9-8).
Concord travels to Salem International for a non-conference contest 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
