BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 road decision to West Virginia Wesleyan at Culpepper Stadium Tuesday night in Mountain East Conference play.
An evenly played first half saw stellar play from each goalie including four saves from freshman goalkeeper
Katie Maher in the first 45 minutes.
At the intermission, the game remained scoreless.
The Mountain Lions (1-1, 0-1 MEC) peppered the goal in the first five minutes of the second half as freshman midfielder
Courtney Wallace had a shot saved and also pushed one wide along with senior midfielder
Micharae Thompson.
West Virginia Wesleyan (2-0-1, 1-0 MEC) broke through with the game's first goal in the 66
th minute and added another score less than five minutes later. The Bobcats recorded their final score in the final five minutes of the contest.
Maher stopped seven shots in the game.

Delaney Crumblish and freshman midfielder
Mira Kontio each had an attempt at the goal as well.
WVWC had more total shots (18-12) and corner kicks (5-2).
CU travels to Charleston for another road MEC game 1:00 p.m. Friday. Â
