URBANA, Ohio – The Concord University men's soccer team's late comeback came up short in a 5-4 overtime loss at Urbana in Mountain East Conference play Sunday afternoon.
UU (4-3, 3-1 MEC) held a 2-1 lead at halftime as sophomore midfielder
Maxime Ramioulle tallied the CU (0-7-1, 0-4 MEC) score in the 26
th minute.
The contest would get chaotic in the final 10 minutes of regulation. Down 3-2, sophomore forward
Sam Ashton put away a rebound off of a shot from senior midfielder
Yacouba Issa Traore to knot the game in the 85
th minute.
Senior midfielder
Alex Rhodes blasted one past Urbana goalkeeper Daniel McNicholas less than two minutes later to give CU a 4-3 lead. However, UU responded with a goal with less than two minutes remaining in the contest to tie the game once again, 4-4.
In overtime, the Blue Knights scored five minutes in to win, 5-4.
Ramioulle's goal was curled in off a corner kick.
Ashton had two scores in the game. The first goal came in the 58
th minute to tie the game, 2-2. Ashton's goal was assisted by junior defender
Xander Bailey. Ramioulle picked up an additional point in the game as he assisted on Rhodes' goal. Freshman midfielder
Moulay Hassani also helped out on CU's final goal.
Ashton and Hassani each had two shots on goal for Concord.

Kyle Brown had four saves in net for the Mountain Lions.
CU travels to Shepherd 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
