SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Three unanswered goals by Notre Dame College was too much for the Concord University women's soccer team to overcome on the road at Mueller Field in Mountain East Conference action Sunday.
Freshman forward
Sarah Hill notched her first goal of the season less than seven minutes into the game. Sophomore defender
Ali Cook sent a free kick into the box where it ricocheted off a NDC (5-0, 5-0 MEC) defender then onto the foot of freshman midfielder
Courtney Wallace who set up Hill's goal into the bottom left corner of the net.
Notre Dame scored its first goal with 15 minutes left before halftime. Concord (3-3, 1-3 MEC) and the Falcons were tied at the intermission 1-1.
The stalemate continued until the Falcons scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of the game. When the contest was still knotted, freshman midfielder
Mira Kontio and junior forward
Pilar Elias each had a shot saved in the 58
th and 60
th minutes, respectively.
Hill fired three shots on goal while junior defender
Delaney Crumblish, Elias and Kontio each had one.
Freshman goalkeeper
Katie Maher made three saves.
NDC held a slight edge in total shots (14-10).
