EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Concord University women's cross country finished 15
th at the Stegemoller Classic Saturday morning that included some of the top teams in Division II.
Freshman
Sydney Haynes was the top finisher for the Mountain Lions, placing 40
th in a time of 19:15 for the 5,000-meter course. Sophomore
Aidan Payton crossed in 70
th as she stopped the clock at 20:01.
Junior
Karleigh Thompson completed the course in 20:49. Sophomore
Kate Golinsky recorded a time of 21:20, and junior
Bailey Knowles completed the scoring runners for CU with a time of 21:23. Fellow junior
Kaylin Kessinger was 11 seconds behind Knowles with a showing of 21:34. And junior
Taylor Hamm followed in 21:37.
Junior
Kenna Knowles (22:05), freshman
Lindsey Cummings (24:39) and junior
Catrina Russell  (26:42) rounded out the Concord runners.
Included at the meet were nationally-ranked teams Lee and Queens as well as Division I foes Murray State, Northern Kentucky, SIU-Edwardsville and Tennessee-Martin.
The Mountain Lions will be back in action in two weeks at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
