Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Concord University softball team went 1-1 against the University of Charleston Monday afternoon in Mountain East Conference play on the road as it won 6-5 before falling 6-1.
Senior pitcher
Allie Reid picked up the win in the circle for the Mountain Lions (18-20, 7-7 MEC) Â as the Lovettsville, Virginia native broke the all-time record for wins in program history. Reid now has 35 wins in the circle for Concord.
Game 1: Concord 6 – Charleston 5 (Nine Innings)

Abby Beatty was the ultimate difference in the game as Concord stormed back from a deficit to win the game.
The game went to extra innings after an eventful seventh inning. Down 4-3 going to the top of the frame, Concord had the first two runners reach base as junior third baseman
Alycea Watson and senior shortstop
Alayna Furr reached base by getting hit by a pitch and drawing a walk, respectively.
With two outs, junior catcher / outfielder
Chelsea Shepherd, pinch running for Watson, and Furr scored on an UC error as Concord took a 5-4 lead.
Charleston was able to score the tying run with one out in the bottom half, but senior outfielder
Lauren Lewis threw out the potential game-winning run, UC's Monica Carter, trying to score on a sacrifice fly from center field. The double off ended the Charleston threat and sent the game to extra innings.
It was the second straight day Lewis had an important outfield assist.
After a scoreless eighth inning, Beatty drew a one-out walk in the ninth and advanced to second on a groundout to set up Reid's double to the left center field gap to put Concord up 6-5.
Back-to-back hitters reached for the Golden Eagles with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, but Reid induced a groundout to first base to end the game.
The Mountain Lions held a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth before a three-run inning from UC. The three early CU runs came courtesy of an RBI groundout from Lewis in the second and a two-run double from senior pitcher / outfielder

Reid earned her 35
th career victory in the circle at Concord, allowing just two of the five runs to be earned and striking out two batters. On the season, Reid improved to 7-7. Of the 27 outs recorded by Reid, 19 of them either came by way of groundouts or strikeouts.

Jenna Witt all had two hits.
Game 2: Charleston 6 – Concord 1
The Golden Eagles scored five runs in the first inning as they jumped out quickly on Concord, and held off a couple of CU rallies to win by five in the nightcap.
Concord's lone run was produced by Witt in the second as she laced her first career triple to score Stahl.
The Mountain Lions loaded the bases in both the third and fifth innings, but Charleston kept CU from scoring on both occasions.
Herndon (3-7) was charged with the loss. Freshman pitcher / outfielder
Darby Fitzpatrick tossed 5.1 innings of relief, scattering four hits and allowing one earned run.
Furr and Witt each had two hits.
