Concord went 3-1 on its road trip last weekend, sweeping two games from Wheeling Jesuit and splitting a twinbill with West Liberty.

Sophomore infielder Trevor Wiersma launched his second grand slam of the year in a 12-2 victory for the Mountain Lions in game two at Wheeling Jesuit.

After an 11-RBI week, Wiersma is now second in the league in RBI with 27.

Concord has the league leader in runs scored, junior infielder Chad Frazier (34) and total hits, Frazier, (37).

Six players are batting over .300 for the season. Frazier (.435) paces the group. Also hitting at least .300 is Wiersma (.378), junior catcher Paul Williams (.363), sophomore outfielder Evan Webb (.346), freshman infielder Nathan Neff (.341) and freshman infielder Jakob Divers (.328).

CU is tied with West Liberty for the most players in the league hitting over .300 this season.

Sophomore pitcher Troy Beckner tossed another shutout at West Liberty as he held the Hilltoppers to four hits over seven innings. Beckner struck out five batters to move to 4-0 on the season.

In two MEC starts, Beckner has yet to allow a run, and has limited the opposition to six hits in 14 innings of work.

Heading into the weekend, Neff has a three-game streak of collecting two or more hits. Neff capped his weekend by collecting a career-high four hits at Wheeling Jesuit.
