MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Concord is 2-4 in its last six contests, which all took place at the Snowbird Freeze Out Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Concord holds a 4-0 record against the Rams, with the two teams opening up the 2015 season in which the Mountain Lions took home 13-2 and 11-3 wins on
January 31, 2015.
In Concord's first victory, now-senior third baseman
Courtney Purtell smacked a three-run double and finished with four RBI on the day in the sixth inning to help Concord secure the win.
Junior third baseman
Alycea Watson opened the scoring for CU in game one with an RBI single.
Watson and Purtell also each had an RBI in Concord's game two win at Winston-Salem two seasons ago.
Watson's RBI was a solo home run, her first and only career home run for the Maroon and Gray.
The two teams played a third time on February 8, 2015 with CU taking a 5-2 win.
Senior outfielder
Lauren Lewis notched an RBI double in the win, while senior pitcher/outfielder
Sarah Herndon picked up two RBI to help Concord earn the season sweep of the Rams.
Senior pitcher
Allie Reid picked up the Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week award last week for her effort at the Snowbird Freeze Out Tournament that included two complete-game wins.
The Lovettsville, Virginia native started both of Concord's wins in Myrtle Beach, going the distance in Concord's opening game against Lock Haven and again against Wilmington. At Myrtle Beach, Reid limited LHU and Wilimington to seven combined hits in 12 innings of work.
Reid has now put together five complete games in the five starts she has made this season.
Reid now just needs two wins to tie Lacey McDougall for first all-time in career wins at CU.
Senior shortstop
Alayna Furr has compiled four multi-hit games already this season Lewis, Reid, sophomore outfielder/pitcher
Abby Beatty, and freshman second baseman/shortstop
Jenna Witt have each had two so far this season.
Furr has had a hit in all 12 games this season, and currently carries an active 17-game hitting streak.
The 17-game hit streak is the longest by a Concord player since Furr achieved a 20-game hit streak during the 2015 season.
Lewis has had five games this season in which she has posted two or more RBI.  Beatty and sophomore pitcher/utility
Aarron Ward each have had two.
Half of Concord's runs scored this season have come in the first and the third inning, 24 of 48.
Freshman pitcher/outfielder
Darby Fitzpatrick has an ERA of 0.93 so far this season, striking out five batters while allowing just two earned runs in 15 innings.
Concord has won four out of its last five true road games dating back to last season.
