MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU has won four of its last six games and has a record of 6-17 overall.
Davis & Elkins had a three-game winning streak snapped Saturday against Kentucky Wesleyan, but the Senators are 17-6 this season.
DOUBLE DIGITS IN 2017
In the 15 games that Concord has played in 2017, junior guard
Danielle Catron has scored at least 10 points in 11 contests.
Catron finished with 13 points against Wheeling Jesuit while also grabbing four rebounds.
In addition to her scoring prowess, the Marion, Virginia native has also done it very efficiently, shooting over 50 percent in nine of 15 games since the calendar turned to 2017.
SECOND HALF OUTBURST
While Wheeling Jesuit stymied Concord in the second half of Saturday's contest, allowing CU to score just 20 points in the final 20 minutes, senior guard
Alexis Lowery scored 11 of her team-high 16 points in the second half, including nine in the fourth quarter.
Lowery scored her 11 points on 4-for-8 shooting.
The 16 points from Lowery was her most since back-to-back 24-point outings January 16 at West Liberty and versus UVa.-Wise January 19.
CRASHING THE GLASS
After being outrebounded in the previous two contests, the Mountain Lions edged Wheeling Jesuit on the boards 43-42 Saturday afternoon.
Junior forward
Heather Chapman recorded her third game this season with at least 10 rebounds as she pulled down exactly 10 rebounds in the game.
CU did a stellar job on the offensive glass as 18 of its 43 rebounds came on the offensive end, the second most for Concord in a game this season.
FACING DAVIS & ELKINS
Concord narrowly fell to Davis & Elkins on the road last season as the Senators came away with a 62-60 win.
Catron scored 13 points while sophomore guard
Emily Boothe tossed in 10 points in the defeat.
Senior guard
Olivia Morgan filled up the box score with nine points, six assists and three steals.
The teams met two seasons ago in Athens with Davis & Elkins earning a 73-66 win.
SCOUTING DAVIS & ELKINS
Stephanie Wooten is averaging 21.4 points per game for the Senators, having scored at least 22 points in four of her last games.
Sydney Turner is the only other D&E player scoring double figures per game, 10.9. Turner is also the team leader in rebounding, snatching 7.1 per game.
The Senators are 10-2 outside of conference play this season with wins over mutual Concord opponents, Bluefield State and Fairmont State.
