PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Concord University baseball team lost 15-4 in game two of its series with UNC-Pembroke Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Sammy Cox Field.
Just like on Friday, junior infielder
Chad Frazier sparked the CU (0-2) offense early with his second home run in as many games as he drove a long ball down the right field line in the first inning.
However, the Braves (5-1) answered in a big way with 11 unanswered runs.
Sophomore outfielder
Evan Webb got the Mountain Lions back on the board in the sixth inning with a two-run single that plated sophomore infielder
Trevor Wiersma and junior catcher
Paul Williams.
The final Concord run came courtesy of freshman outfielder
Ryan Fralin as he notched his first career RBI on a single that brought in sophomore catcher
Jordan Clark in the eighth inning.
Williams paced the Concord offense with a three-hit afternoon and was on base a total of four times after drawing an additional walk. Clark notched back-to-back two-hit games by going 2-for-5 at the dish. One of Clark's hits went for a double.
Freshman pitcher
Indiana Hall (0-1) was charged with the loss, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up seven earned runs and striking out a batter.
Concord and UNCP conclude the three-game series 12:00 p.m. Sunday.
