ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University women's basketball team lost 127-82 against Glenville State Tuesday night at the Carter Center in Mountain East Conference play.
Glenville State (7-1, 5-0 MEC) buried 18 three-pointers in the win including 13 in the second half for the victory.
After GSC outscored the Mountain Lions (3-5, 1-4 MEC) 30-14 in the second half, Glenville State was only two points better than Concord in the second quarter, 29-27, despite all five CU starters in foul trouble to begin the period.
The Pioneers scored at least 29 points in each of the four periods with the Mountain Lions reaching 25 points in a quarter during the second and third periods.
CU spread the scoring around with five players reaching double figures. Sophomore forward
Madison May led the group by matching her career high with 21 points. Senior forward
Danielle Catron pitched in 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting.
Junior guard
Emily Boothe equaled her season best with 12 points while pulling down seven rebounds and also dishing out seven assists. Senior forward
Heather Chapman also had 12 points and came within two rebounds of a double-double.
Freshman forward

Concord had five players in double figures for the first time since last year's home contest against the Pioneers. Boothe, Catron and May were a part of the double-figure scoring quintet in that particular game.
The Mountain Lions' final game of the first semester will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at West Virginia Wesleyan.
