ATHENS, W.Va. - The Concord University men's basketball team opens up its home schedule 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against Mercer County rival Bluefield State at the Carter Center.

RECORDS
The Mountain Lions took both games at the MEC-CIAA Challenge to move to 2-0 on the season.
Bluefield State won its season opener over Lincoln (Pa.) by a score of 76-67.
TOMMY FOR TWO!
Junior guard
Tommy Bolte had an outstanding weekend as he averaged 41.5 points per game.
The Chillicothe, Ohio native leads Division II in scoring.
In the first weekend of the season, there were five different 40-point performance and two of those belong to Bolte.
He scored 40 points and handed out 10 assists for his first career double-double against Fayetteville State.
Bolte returned to score 43 points at Winston-Salem State.
Of the 83 points the junior guard scored only three of them came from three-point range.
Bolte hit 18 free throws and made 32 field goals in the game.
Over the weekend, Bolte shot 65.3 percent (32-for-49). Bolte ranks second in the nation in field goals made this season.
In addition to his work from the field, Bolte also ranks top 10 in the nation in assists at 8.0 per game. Bolte also came away with six total steals in two games.
BURSTING ONTO THE SCENE
After only appearing in 13 games last season and playing 42 total minutes, sophomore forward
Trey Brisco played 61 total minutes in two starts at the MEC-CIAA Challenge.
After two games, Brisco leads the Mountain Lions in rebounds per game at 6.0.
Brisco also drilled three three-pointers which was second on the team behind senior guard
B.J. Hamlet's six three-pointers.
One of Brisco's three-pointer was a crucial one as Concord closed out Fayetteville State on Friday.
SHOOTING EFFICIENCY
The Mountain Lions shot 60.4 percent from the field (29-for-48) in the in over Winston-Salem State.
It was the first time CU shot 60 percent or better from the field since last February at home against nationally-ranked West Liberty.
It was also the first incidence in which Concord shot 60 percent from the floor away from the Carter Center since a win at Fairmont State on February 19, 2015.
Besides Bolte shooting 65 percent from the floor, Hamlet was also above 60 percent shooting (61.1 percent / 11-for-18).
Hamlet was 6-for-10 from three-point range as well.
The Roanoke, Virginia native ranks fifth in total field goal percentage in the Mountain East Conference and is second in the league in three-point shooting percentage.
1,100 CLUB
After defeating Fayetteville State and Winston-Salem State over the weekend, Concord closed to within two wins of 1,100 program victories.
The Mountain Lions would join elite company with two more wins.
Of the 312 Division II basketball schools, 75 other schools have won at least 1,100 games.
Furthermore, Concord would be the 16th school in the Atlantic Region to pull off the feat.
GOING 3-0
The Mountain Lions will be seeking a 3-0 start for the second time in three years when it hosts Bluefield State.
During the 2015-16 season, CU started 8-0 during that particular season before it lost its first game of the season in triple overtime to West Virginia Wesleyan during the first weekend of December.
SUCCESS AGAINST BLUEFIELD STATE
Concord has won five of the last six games over its Mercer County rival.
The Mountain Lions have also done it in convincing fashion as they have been victorious by an average margin of 19.2 points per game including a 37-point win--90-53--last season at the Carter Center.
Hamlet came off the bench and scored 16 points in the game as he canned half of his three-point attempts--4-for-8.
Hamlet was 6-for-11 from the field in the game.
Sophomore guard
Colby Hill came in and hit two additional three-pointers for a career-high six points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
18- Made foul shots by Bolte in two games, the most for a CU player in a two-game stretch since Michael Sanchez in the 2015-16 season when he made 25 to start the season.
53.5- Average scoring by Concord in the second half of games this season.
