BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Concord University volleyball team lost a three-set match to King University Tuesday night in a non-conference match as the Tornado won 25-16, 25-18, 25-16.
King (8-9) took control of the first set with an 11-3 run after the score was tied 4-4. Sophomore middle hitter

Brooke Heck each had a kill in the early going for CU (9-12).

Alexi Pranckus closed Concord to within 9-7 in the second set, the Tornado went on 7-2 spurt to open up a 16-9 advantage in the game. The Mountain Lions trimmed the deficit to five points twice from there, but could not come any closer in the second set.
Another KU run in the third set was too much for Concord to overcome as it lost the final game by nine pints.
Heck led the way for the Mountain Lions with six kills. Ellis and sophomore outside hitter
Ellie Lawrence each had five kills. Lawrence added a hitting percentage of .250.

Lindsay Maddox had a team-best eight digs with sophomore setter
Jenna Mounts and Pranckus each recording seven.
CU returns to the Carter Center 5:00 p.m. Friday to face Notre Dame College for a Mountain East Conference match.
