MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU is 5-15 overall and 1-13 in the Mountain East Conference.

The Pioneers are 8-10 on the year and 5-9 against league foes.

WVWC has posted a record of 10-10 overall and 7-7 in the MEC.

SEASON'S FIRST
In Concord's recent road trip to Fairmont State and Shepherd, senior guards Aaron Miller and Cam Shannon notched a couple of season milestones.

Miller exploded for 32 points at FSU on 14-for-22 shooting.

It was Miller's first 30-point game of the season and the fourth of his career.

The Stephens City, Virginia native finished just three points shy of his career of 35 points that was established January 12, 2015 against Shepherd.

Additionally, it was the first 30-point performance for a CU player since Rob Reed scored 34 in the MEC Semifinals last season versus West Liberty.

Miller also set a career best with 14 made shots in the game. Meanwhile, Shannon topped the 20-point mark for the first time this season with 20 points at Shepherd Saturday.

It was Shannon's first 20-point game since netting 20 points in the first round of the MEC Tournament at Shepherd on March 4, 2014.

For his career, the Beckley, West Virginia native has four 20-point games with one coming at Glenville State during the 2013-14 season.

FREE THROW SUCCESS
After having a three-game stretch of shooting below 72 percent from the foul line as a team, the Mountain Lions have shot 76 percent or better over the last three games against West Virginia State (76 percent / 19-for-25, Fairmont State (84.2 percent / 16-for-19) and Shepherd (76.9 percent / 10-for-13).

CU's recent success has it ranked third in the MEC in free throw shooting as a team (.743).

Furthermore, Concord finished the regular season matchups against FSU shooting 87.1 percent (34-for-39) at the foul line after burying 18-of-20 free throws in the home meeting.

On the road at Fairmont State, junior forward Babe Murphy went 4-for-4 at the foul line and freshman forward Patrick Eugene was 3-for-4.

Murphy added a 3-for-3 effort at Shepherd to raise his free-throw shooting percentage from 57.8 percent to 64.4 percent.

Miller's free-throw percentage sits at .860 (49-for-57) entering Wednesday's game.

If the season ended today, Miller would rank fifth in single-season free-throw shooting percentage at CU, however, Miller needs 26 more makes from the charity stripe to qualify on the list that requires 75 total makes on the season to appear on the list.

SECOND CHANCES
Before the streak was broken at SU, the Mountain Lions had four consecutive games of 10 or more offensive rebounds.

Overall, CU has 66 offensive rebounds in the last five games.

It's been a collective effort on the offensive glass with senior forward Stephen Thompson recording 11 offensive rebounds including five at West Virginia State.

Eugene has pulled down nine offensive boards with four coming at West Virginia State.

Junior forward Augustine Mathias has six total in the last five games.

Miller, Murphy and senior guard Michael Sanchez each have four and sophomore guard Tommy Bolte grabbed two versus UVa.-Wise.

CU will be facing the last place defensive rebounding team in Glenville State, grabbing just 63.2 percent of opponents' misses.

SECOND HALF OUTBURST
After scoring just 33 points in the first half against Glenville State at the Carter Center in November, Concord tallied 57 points in the second half, the most points scored in a single half by CU this season and only one of two 50-point halves for the Mountain Lions in 2016-17.

The Maroon and Gray shot 60.6 percent (20-for-33) in the second half. Individually, Miller was 6-for-8 in the second half and scored 17 points.

Shannon connected on all four of his shots and 13 of his 15 points came after halftime against Glenville State in the first meeting.

CU's rally versus the Pioneers fell just short as GSC won 94-90.

THREE VERSUS TWO
No other team in the MEC relies on the three-point shot more than Concord.

34.6 percent of Concord's made field goals have come from beyond the arc this season.

The Mountain Lions average 9.9 three-pointers per contest. Meanwhile, West Virginia Wesleyan is one of the teams league that relies the least on making triples.

The Bobcats are fifth in the conference in least number of shots coming from distance (27.5 percent).

Charleston has the lowest percentage of total makes coming from three-point range (22.6 percent).

Additionally, WVWC ranks eighth in the MEC in three-pointers made per game (7.7).

Concord has six players that have made at least 20 three-pointers while West Virginia Wesleyan has just four players with 20 successful connections from three-point range.

SCOUTING GLENVILLE STATE
The Pioneers have lost four games in a row ahead of Wednesday's contest.

Brett Morris is one of most well-rounded players in the MEC averaging 19.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 54.3 percent from the field.

Two other players, Terry Davis Jr. (15.7) and Jon Dunmyer (15.2) average at least 15 points per game.

Davis Jr. is also shooting above 50 percent from the field this season. GSC is the fourth highest-scoring team in the MEC (87.6).

SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
West Virginia Wesleyan has won five of six games to even its record at 10-10.

The Bobcats are averaging 89.3 points per game in the last six, 15 points more than their season average.

WVWC has five players averaging at least 10 points per game led by Mo Berchie at 16.4 points per game.

Freshman Luke Layhew is scoring 11.7 points per game and grabbing 6.9 rebounds per contest.

West Virginia Wesleyan (50.1 percent) is one of two teams in MEC shooting at least 50 percent from the floor along with Fairmont State.
