MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Concord enters the contest at 3-15 overall while Bluefield State picked up its first win of the season Sunday afternoon over Washington Adventist. The Blues are 1-17.

SWEEPING SHEPHERD
The Mountain Lions went on the road Saturday afternoon and defeated Shepherd 67-58 behind 20 points and nine rebounds from junior guard Lindsey Overbey. Sophomore guard Emily Boothe contributed 16 points and eight rebounds and junior forward Heather Chapman scored 14 points.

It was the first time going back to the start of the 2000-2001 season that CU has swept the Rams.

Overbey notched her second career 20-point game against SU and tied her career-high in rebounds.

By scoring 20 points, Overbey became the fourth Concord player to notch a 20-point this season with senior guard Alexis Lowery doing five times and Chapman and junior guard Danielle Catron topping 20 twice each.

LIMITING SCORING
CU held Shepherd to 33.8 percent shooting (23-for-68) from the field in the win. It was the first time since the first matchup with Bluefield State this season that Concord has held an opponent under 35 percent shooting.

The Mountain Lions have held an opponent under 35 percent shooting five over the last two seasons including Saturday.

ICING AWAY THE GAME
Boothe helped seal the win over SU Saturday by going 5-for-6 at the free throw line down the stretch of the game. For the entire contest, Boothe went 10-for-12 at the charity stripe.

It was just the second time this season a Concord player has made at least 10 free throws.

Lowery knocked down 10-of-12 foul shots at West Liberty January 16.

SECOND LOOK AT BSC
Concord earned an 84-56 win November 15 at Bluefield State. The 28-point victory was CU's largest margin of victory since defeating Wheeling Jesuit by 28 points in the opening round of the WVIAC Tournament in 2011-12.

Lowery scored 25 points earlier in the season against Bluefield State, drilling six three-pointers in the process.

Overbey and freshman forward Madison May each notched 10 points in the win.

It was May's first career game in double digits. The Athens, West Virginia native has three double-figure scoring games in her young collegiate career.

Sophomore Courtney White tore down 10 rebounds as Concord outrebounded the Blues 59-37. May and Overbey each had six rebounds as well.

White's 10-rebound game was the only double-digit board game for CU until Chapman's recent double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds at West Virginia State January 21.

SCOUTING BLUEFIELD STATE
BSC will be playing on back-to-back days after its Sunday victory, 63-57.

Entering the contest, Bluefield State was averaging 48.8 points per game, but scored nearly 15 points over its season average.

Tanasia Blake averages a double-double for BSC, scoring 12.9 points per game and grabbing 10.7 rebounds per game.

In the first matchup this season, Blake scored 18 points and pulled 11 rebounds.
