Box Score INSTITUTE, W.Va. – After falling behind by 18 points with 9:49 left in the game, the Concord University men's basketball stormed back to take a 79-78 lead only to see a game-winning three-pointer come up short in a 90-88 road loss at West Virginia State Saturday afternoon in Mountain East Conference play inside the Walker Convocation Center.
Down 78-60, CU (5-13, 1-11 MEC) rattled off 19 consecutive points to take a 79-78 advantage with 5:38 left in the contest. Six different players contributed during the run with senior guard

The Yellow Jackets (6-12, 3-9 MEC) regained momentum with an 11-4 run that gave them an 89-83 lead with 2:25 remaining in the game.

B.J. Hamlet buried one of his three three-pointers on the afternoon to cut the deficit to 89-86. After WVSU missed a pair of free throws on the ensuing possession, senior forward
Stephen Thompson connected on two foul shots to make it 89-88 West Virginia State with 50 seconds left.
West Virginia State could not extend its lead, but CU missed an opportunity of its own to take back with the lead after a missed shot with 18 seconds left. Forced to foul, Concord had one more look at a game-winner after WVSU only made 1-of-2 foul shots.
Miller's three-pointer at the buzzer fell was off target as Concord lost 90-88.
Miller finished with a game-high 22 points. Sophomore guard
Tommy Bolte had a career day with career-high in both points (21) and made three-pointers (three). In addition to his three triples, Hamlet scored 13 points and went over 100 career made three-pointers in the process.
The Mountain Lions stay on the road for Thursday's contest at nationally-ranked Fairmont State. Start time at Joe Retton Arena is 7:30 p.m.
