ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's basketball dropped Thursday night's contest to UVa.-Wise 98-70 in Mountain East Conference action at the Carter Center.
The Cavaliers (4-13, 2-9 MEC) used a 14-2 run to open the second half against Concord (5-12, 1-10 MEC) to create separation on the scoreboard, and led 55-40 with 15:15 left in the game. CU was never able to trim the deficit back to single digits for the remainder of the game.
The first 20 minutes of the contest featured four ties and four lead changes with neither side leading by more than eight points.
In the first half, senior guard
Aaron Miller topped the 1,500-point plateau with a right-handed layup at the 11:55 mark. Miller becomes the 11
th player in program history with 1,500 points.

Michael Sanchez tied for the team lead with 14 points. It was the sixth time in the last seven games that Sanchez has reached double digits in the scoring column.

Cam Shannon added 13 points, two off his season high.
UVa.-Wise's Taiwo Badmus erupted for 42 points on 14-for-19 shooting .
CU plays four straight on the road beginning with a trip to Institute, West Virginia 4:00 p.m. Saturday to face West Virginia State.
