Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va- The Concord University women's soccer team fought to a scoreless draw on the road in Mountain East Conference action.
Concord is now 3-3-2 on the year, while West Liberty is now 4-1-2 this season.
After an opening ten minutes without a shot, the Mountain Lions looked to strike first as junior midfielder
Micharae Thompson had a header go over the crossbar from a corner kick delivery by freshman midfielder
Karley Poff.
West Liberty responded with seven consecutive shots over the next 11 minutes, forcing sophomore goalkeeper
Emily Simpkins to make two saves. Another effort by WLU's Thanna Oddo hit the post in the 26
th minute.
Poff was active once again as she forced West Liberty goalkeeper Allie Warsaw into a save with a shot in the 29
th minute.
Simpkins made two more saves to preserve the clean sheet for Concord in the first half.
The second half of play saw two more shots from the Hilltoppers in the 51
st and 53
rd minute, before West Liberty's Sarah Bodnar forced Simpkins into yet another save in the 54
th minute.
Just 16 seconds later, Thompson had another effort go over the goal. Sophomore defender
Joanna Aiello tested Warsaw once again with a shot that was saved in the 63
rd minute.

st minute, respectively as neither team could find a breakthrough goal through regulation.
West Liberty looked to break through in the first overtime period, with the Hilltoppers firing three shots high of the goal, and Oddo making Simpkins keep the ball out of the goal yet again.
The second overtime had Concord look to nab a late winner, with Poff firing a shot over the goal, and sophomore defender
Alison Backel testing Warsaw in the 106
th minute. The Hilltoppers Sarah Bodnar forced Simpkins to make one final save in the 109
th minute.
During the last 20 seconds of play, freshman forward
Megan Walsh and senior midfielder
Margot Provencher each had shots at goal that were blocked.
WLU outshot Concord 25-12, with a narrow 7-6 advantage in shots on goal. Simpkins saved all seven shots she faced on target. Poff, Akers, Aiello, Thompson, and Backel each had shots on goal.
