MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU has won three of its last five games and is now 8-12 overall and 2-2 in the Mountain East Conference.

Most recently, the Mountain Lions won a non-conference clash with Bluefield 14-9 Wednesday night at Hunnicutt Field in Princeton, West Virginia.

Redshirt freshman infielder Trevor Wiersma powered the offense by going 4-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles in Concord's victory over BSC.

And in his last seven games, Wiersma is batting .482 (14-for-29) with four-multi games, including a two-three hit games and a four-hit game.

Sophomore infielder Chad Frazier has also seen his average rise in the latest stretch of games.

The Roanoke, Virginia has at least one hit in eight of his last night games that includes four multi-hit games while he has also driven in seven of his 11 RBI on the season during the nine-game swing.

In Concord's series split with Wheeling Jesuit Monday afternoon, senior infielder Holt Cassada helped the Mountain Lions to score 19 runs in the nightcap, the most runs for CU in a nine-inning game in nearly three years.

Three of the four hits Cassada racked up were doubles as he drove in two runs and scored three more. The Danville, Virginia native is on-pace to record single-season highs in every hitting statistical category in his final year in the Maroon and Gray.

This season, Cassada is batting .315 with (23-for-73) with 15 runs scored and nine RBI.

Heading into the weekend, sophomore outfielder Andy Szamski is just seven RBI away from 100 for his career.

While Szamski needs more approximately 50 more RBI to crack the all-time top 10 at Concord, the Glen Arm, Maryland native could reach 100 RBI in 75 games or less in the Maroon and Gray if he were to eclipse the milestone this weekend.

A closer look at the all-time record book reveals that senior pitcher Chris Kelly can draw closer to the all-time wins lead at CU.

Kelly is 23-7 all-time at Concord, the third-most wins in program history and can draw to within one win of second place, Trey Smith who had 25 career wins from 2007-10.

After collecting 10 hits since last Tuesday, senior outfielder Andrew Seigel now ranks seventh all-time in hits at Concord with 222.

The Mountain Lions were 3-2 against Notre Dame last season as the teams split a four-game set in northeastern Ohio before CU beat NDC in the MEC Tournament.

In five career games versus NDC, Szamski has at least one RBI in all five games and sports a line of a .437 batting average (7-for-16) with seven RBI and three extra-base hits.

Along with Szamski, Cassada, Fraizer, Seigel and sophomore catcher Paul Williams all own at least one multi-hit game in their careers against the Falcons.

In two career starts against Notre Dame, Kelly has tossed 13 innings while giving up two runs on nine hits and striking out eight hitters.

Last season, the Mountain Lions split a doubleheader against Urbana at home as Kelly threw a complete-game shutout, allowing five hits and striking out seven in seven innings in a 1-0 CU win.

SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
The Falcons are 8-10 this season and 2-2 against MEC teams.

NDC is led offensively by Nick Ely who is hitting .340 with nine runs scored and nine RBI.

On the mound, Josh Armbruster is 2-2 with a 4.20 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Austin Tanfield is 1-1 with 2.66 ERA in 20.1 innings.

SCOUTING URBANA
The Blue Knights are 5-13 this season with a mark of 1-3 in the conference.

Aaron Finlay is hitting over .400 with an average of .405, scoring 15 runs and driving in eight more.
