GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Concord University softball team went 1-1 against Glenville State Sunday afternoon in Mountain East Conference play as CU won the first game 9-0, but fell 7-6 in the night cap.
Concord moves to 13-11 overall and 2-4 in the conference while Glenville State sports a mark of 4-17 overall and 1-5 in the MEC.
Game 1: Concord 9 – Glenville State 0 (Five Innings) CU scored seven runs in the second inning while junior outfielder / pitcher
Sarah Herndon pitched a five-inning no-hitter to secure a Concord win.

Kristen Rose all had one RBI in the second inning while freshman infielder
Kylie Kent plated two runs in the frame.
The Mountain Lions added two more runs in the fifth inning on an RBI triple by Furr while freshman second baseman/outfielder
Lindsey Stahl brought home Rose on a base hit.
Meanwhile, Herndon retired 15 of the 16 batters she faced in the mercy-rule, shortened game with the only runner reaching on a second inning walk.
Herndon struck out five batters to earn her fifth win of the season.

Alyssa Morris and Rose all had two-hit games while Rose scored two runs.
Game 2: Glenville State 7 – Concord 6Five runs from GSC in the fifth inning was too much for the Mountain Lions to overcome as the teams split the doubleheader.
CU plated the first four runs of the game as Rose singled in Furr in the first inning before sophomore catcher / first baseman
Nicole Neri smashed her second home run of the season and Lewis hit a two-run single in the second.
Glenville State notched two runs in the third before its five-run fifth to grab a 7-4 lead after five inning.
The Mountain Lions scored a run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Beatty. In the seventh, senior outfielder
Kristi Benvenuto raced home on an error to get CU to within 7-6, the Pioneers got out of the inning and grabbed the win with Concord's tying run on third to end the game.
Lewis led the offense in game two by going 3-for-4 with two RBI while Furr was 2-for-5 with three runs scored. Neri and Rose also had two-hit contests.
Herndon was charged with the loss in relief as she went 3.1 innings while giving up five earned runs.
