MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• Concord finished 2015 with a mark of 30-23 which was the third straight season the Mountain Lions amassed 30 or more wins, a program-record for consecutive 30-win seasons.

• CU welcomes back seven position players that played in at least 25 games including reigning Mountain East Conference Freshman of the Year sophomore outfielder Andy Szamski.

• Szamski completed last season with a batting average of .353 to go along with 24 extra-base hits and an MEC-leading 72 RBI.

• Among players who qualified in batting average and return for the Mountain Lions, sophomore catcher Paul Williams has the top batting average as he hit .364 last season.

• Williams did most of his damage from April 1 until the end of the season as he batted .413 (31-for-75) over the final six weeks of the season. Furthermore, of Williams' 43 hits, 31 of them came during that stretch.

• Williams saw his batting average climb from .279 to .364 after April 1. The Vinton, Virginia native carries a modest eight-game hitting streak over from the 2015 season to this weekend.

• Senior outfielder Andrew Seigel hit .358 last season while also swiping 19 bases in 23 attempts.

• The next stolen base for Seigel will be his 70th career swipe at Concord, and needs 18 steals to tie former All-American outfielder Bret Blevins for first on the all-time stolen base leader board at Concord.

• Senior infielder Brad Sullivan saw a significant jump in his batting average from .327 in 2014 to .351 in 2015. Even though Sullivan missed time last year due to injury, the Mountain Lions recorded 19 wins when Sullivan hit clean-up.

• In 48 games of action, a career-high, senior infielder Holt Cassada batted .265 with 24 runs scored and 19 RBI.

• In his first season at Concord, sophomore infielder Chad Frazier hit .255 with 28 runs scored while he also drove in 17 runs.

• After primarily playing catcher in his first three seasons at CU, senior outfielder Charles Goss will transition to the green grass of the diamond this season.

• Senior pitcher Chris Kelly has a chance to become the all-time winningest pitcher at Concord by the end of this season. The Grundy, Virginia native enters this season with 20 career wins and needs just eight wins to break the all-time record at CU.

• The last two seasons Kelly has a mark of 16-4 on the mound and has been CU's wins leader or tied for the wins lead the last two seasons.

• Sophomore pitcher Damon Frazier will move from a bullpen role to a starter this season. Last season, D. Frazier was just one save away from the single-season record with five saves in 20.2 innings.

• Concord and UNC-Pembroke have never met in baseball.

• Head coach Kevin Garrett will coach his first game since the end of the 2010 season. From 1996-2010, Garrett collected 355 wins.

SCOUTING UNC-PEMBROKE
• The Braves are off to a 2-0 starter after downing future Concord opponent Pitt-Johnstown 13-7 and 6-1 last weekend.

• Stibel Aleman Saba is batting .750 with one home run and five RBI.

• Seven different pitchers recorded time on the mound for UNCP in the first games of the season. Jesse Stinnett pitched five innings with seven strikeouts.
