WEST LIBERTY, W.Va- The Concord University women's basketball team was defeated by West Liberty 90-66 in a Mountain East Conference matchup on Thursday night.
Concord drops to 5-18 on the season, (3-14 MEC), while West Liberty improves to 20-3 overall, (15-2 MEC). Â Â
West Liberty used an explosive start to set the Mountain Lions back early, as they outscored CU 34-15 in the first quarter. Concord managed to limit the scoring of West Liberty to just 15 points in the second quarter, but could only close the gap to 16 during that time span.Â
The second half fared better for the Mountain Lions, as they were only outscored by one through the second half, and five points total from the second quarter onward. However, the fast start by the Hilltoppers put the Mountain Lions in a deficit that proved hard to make up. Concord outscored West Liberty 23-14 in the fourth quarter, but could not manage to climb back into the game after the hot start from West Liberty.Â

Kylie Molisee notched her eighth double-double of the season, totaling 18 points and ten rebounds. Junior guard
Alexis Lowery scored 15 points, and added four steals. Junior guard
Olivia Morgan added eight points, five rebounds, and five assists. Freshman guard
Emily Boothe provided nine points and six rebounds off the bench for CU. Â Â
Concord will next make the short trip to Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. tip.Â
