BUCKHANNON, W.Va-Â The Concord University women's basketball team fell 79-57 on the road to West Virginia Wesleyan in Mountain East Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Concord falls to 1-6 (0-4 MEC), while West Virginia Wesleyan improves to 3-3 (3-1 MEC).Â

The Bobcats jumped out to an early seven-point lead, taking a 10-3 lead just four minutes into the game.

WVWC continued its strong start to the first half in the second quarter, taking an 18 point lead with 12 seconds left in the first half before senior guard
Olivia Morgan converted an old school, three-point play with six seconds left in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 15 at the break.Â

Danielle Catron cut WVWC's lead to nine with 9:27 left in the third quarter, but the Bobcats held off the run by Concord by scoring six straight points to restore a 15-point lead that they would never relinquish as WVWC secured a 79-57 victory.Â

Alexis Lowery also added double figures, finishing with 11 points. Senior guard
Olivia Morgan scored eight points while adding four steals, three assists, and three rebounds.  Â

Concord returns to action on December 11 in a non-conference tilt against Winston-Salem State in Athens. Tip off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
