ATHENS, W.VA- The Concord University women's basketball team fell 114-87 in Mountain East Conference action on Wednesday evening at the Carter Center.
Concord falls to 1-5 (0-3 MEC), while Glenville State improves to 4-1 on the season (2-1 MEC).
A bright start from Concord helped CU battle closely with GSC over the first quarter, taking a 25-24 lead over the first 10 minutes of play.

Danielle Catron helped spark Concord's early scoring, notching eight points off of the bench to pace CU. Junior center
Alley Odell also scored six points on just four shots in the first quarter.
The Mountain Lions shot 54.5 percent from the field over the opening period.
The Pioneers answered with a run of their own in the second quarter, using a 20-8 run to take a 13 point lead, 44-31, with 4:47 left in the first half.

Ali Jo Whitman and Catron helped to close the gap to two as GSC held on to a 47-45 lead going into halftime.
Glenville State pushed to a 16-point lead after the break, taking a 71-55 lead with 4:03 left in the third quarter. The Pioneers outscored CU 37-19 overall in the quarter. GSC continued to have momentum through the fourth quarter to win 114-87.
Glenville State made 19 three-pointers in the win.
Catron finished with 16 points while adding five rebounds and three assists. Junior guard
Alexis Lowery added 12 points and five rebounds, while freshman forward
Madison May, Boothe and Odell each notched double figures at 11, 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Boothe also added six rebounds and six assists.
The game featured 11 lead changes.
Concord returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Buckhannon, West Virginia for a matchup against West Virginia Wesleyan tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
