SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer fell 1-0 to Shepherd Sunday afternoon in Mountain East Conference action.
Shepherd (6-5-1, 5-5-1 MEC) scored in the 58
th minute for the game's lone goal.

Emily Simpkins was forced to make a save less than three minutes into the game for one of her five saves in the contest.
The Mountain Lions (3-6-3, 3-5-3 MEC) were able to put two shots on goal in the first half as sophomore forward
Pilar Elias and redshirt freshman midfielder
Taylor Life each had looks at the target, but the shots were turned away by SU goalie Kelsey Rhoderick to keep the game tied at halftime.
The first shot on goal in the second half was a score for Shepherd in the 58
th minute.
CU had a chance to tie the game less than two minutes but SU stopped junior midfielder
Micharae Thompson's shot. Concord had more opportunity at goal as freshman midfielder
Karley Poff had her shot saved by Shepherd.
The Rams owned an edge in total shots (13-11) and shots on goal (6-4). Both teams had two corner kicks in the contest.
The Mountain Lions travel to Wheeling Jesuit 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
