ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team will three matches over two days at the Carter Center beginning 5:00 p.m. Friday with Glenville State and continuing 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Saturday when it faces West Virginia Wesleyan and Winston-Salem State, respectively.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU dropped a pair of matches last weekend to Notre Dame and Urbana and now sits 10-11 overall and 4-4 in the Mountain East Conference.
The Mountain Lions are tied for sixth in the MEC standings with UU.
After notching 39 digs in the two matches in Ohio, sophomore libero
Erin Shannon is the MEC leader in digs per set, 5.11.
Additionally, Shannon is seventh in the region in digs per set.
Heading into the weekend, the Frankfort, Illinois native needs 18 digs to move into 10
th all-time at CU in digs.
Junior setter
Casey Mandeville achieved a career milestone as she moved into the top five in all-time assists at Concord by amassing 50 assists in Concord's most recent contests.
Mandeville now has 1,325 assists in her career in the Maroon and Gray and moved past Helen Thiesen for fifth on the career list.
Mandeville is seventh in the conference in assists per set (5.63) while sophomore middle hitter
Brooke Heck is eighth in the league in hitting percentage (.289).
The Mountain Lions are 2-0 against West Virginia Wesleyan and GSC this season.
CU survived a five-set match against the Bobcats on the road while they swept Glenville State in straight sets.
Redshirt freshman
Ellie Lawrence had a double-double of 11 kills and 13 digs at WVWC while sophomore outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus (28) and Shannon (34) both set career-highs in digs.
Freshman outside hitter
Emily Ellis recorded nine kills and six blocks for the Mountain Lions at West Virginia Wesleyan.
At Glenville State, Heck notched 11 kills in 12 chances which led to the Huntington, West Virginia native getting MEC Player of the Week two weeks ago.
Junior outside hitter
Lisette Roldan had eight kills in 16 chances without an error at GSC.
The Mountain Lions have split the last two meetings with Winston-Salem State with WSSU winning last year at home in five set, and Concord winning two season ago in Athens.
Junior middle hitter
Alexis Elliott came up with 16 kills and 15 digs last year at WSSU while Pranckus added 12 kills and 12 digs.
SCOUTING GLENVILLE STATE
GSC is looking for its first MEC win of the season with a 1-21 overall mark and 0-6 in the MEC.
Jazaray Clark-Casto had 11 kills versus Concord earlier in the season.
SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
WVWC is 6-15 overall and 2-6 against league foes.
Paulina Nottingham is fourth in the MEC in assists per set (8.36).
Hannah King has 172 kills and 40 blocks this season.
SCOUTING WINSTON-SALEM STATE
The Rams are 15-8 this season.
However, WSSU is just 1-4 on the road.
Mia Herrod leads Winston-Salem State with 180 kills.
