FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Concord University women's basketball team dropped a road decision to Fairmont State, 69-52, Wednesday night in Mountain East play at Joe Retton Arena.
After a closely contest first half that featured 10 lead changes and four ties, the Fighting Falcons (9-3, 3-3 MEC) outscored Concord (3-8, 2-4 MEC) 27-13 in the third quarter to turn take a 56-40 lead after three quarters.
FSU hung into its double-digit lead throughout the four quarter as they won 69-52.
But to start the game, the Mountain Lions led 18-14 after one quarter as sophomore guard

Alexis Lowery for a three-pointer to give CU its largest edge of the game.
The Maroon and Gray stayed in contact with Fairmont State throughout the second quarter even though FSU held a 15-9 edge in scoring during the second period.
In the first half, the Mountain Lions forced 15 turnovers and had 23 overall which is the second-highest number of turnovers Concord has forced in a game this season.
After a fairly quiet first half, senior forward
Kylie Molisee came alive in the second half to finish with her second straight double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Catron and junior guard
Olivia Morgan also scored in double digits with 11 points.
Freshman guard
Emily Boothe notched a career-high five steals while Lowery and freshman forward Country White each had three steals. For White, it was a career-high.
Fairmont State held a small edge on the boards (33-32) as well as in made field goals (15-11).
The Mountain Lions stay on the road to begin the year when they travel to Notre Dame 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
