Regional BracketATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University softball team will open up its trip to the NCAA Atlantic Regional Tournament 12:00 p.m. Friday against West Chester at Culpepper Field in Buckhannon, West Virginia.

THE BRACKETThe Atlantic Region in split up into two sub-regional with Concord, Seton Hill, West Chester and West Virginia Wesleyan playing on side of the bracket. California (Pa.), Charleston, Gannon and St. Augustine's are on the other half of the bracket. The winners of each sub-regional, which is double elimination will meet May 15-17 at the super regional. RECORDS• Concord was slotted sixth in the region after putting together a 33-17 record during the regular season.
• WCU is the third best team in the region, sporting a mark of 40-14.
THE COACHES•
Alisa Tasler, who is in her fourth season at Concord, has compiled a mark of 104-101.
• West Chester's Diane Lokey is 358-269-1 in 12 seasons at the school.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES• Junior catcher
Alyssa Morris was named to the All-Mountain East Conference Tournament team after going 5-for-14 with two doubles at the conference tournament for Concord.
• In nine of Morris' last 10 games, she has at least one hit.
• In 8.1 innings of postseason pitching this year, junior pitcher
Allie Reid has allowed just two runs and five hits while striking out five batters.
• In 2015, the Mountain Lions' offense has exceeded almost all of their individual numbers from last season.
• Sophomore
Lauren Lewis led the team in batting average last season at .384, and this season sophomore shortstop
Alayna Furr (.383) and Morris (.408) are on pace to break surpass Lewis' mark.
• Lewis, senior pitcher / first baseman
Lacey McDougall and Morris became the first Concord players to drive in at least 40 runs in a season since 1999 when CU Hall of Famer Crystal Kestner tallied 43 RBI.
• For the third season at least one Concord player will finish the year with 60 or more hits. In 2013 Becca Gleason had 63 hits while Lewis had 63 a season ago.
• Morris has 62 hits this year and with four more hits, McDougall can tally a 60-hit season.
• Concord's only all-time meeting with West Chester came in 2013 when CU dropped an 8-3 decision to the Golden Rams in Raleigh, North Carolina.
• That day, Morris went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
• Senior second baseman
Whitney Carrigan was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
• Current Concord assistant coach
Stephanie Harper was 2-for-3 at the plate.
• Seven Mountain Lions on the roster now faced WCU in junior outfielder
Katie Allen, junior outfielder Kristie Benvenuto, Carrigan McDougall, Morris, senior outfielder
Jessica Seymour and senior first baseman
Brantlea Wood.
• Meanwhile, four West Chester that were in the lineup in 2013 are still on the roster in 2015 with Laura Altenburger, Madison Kelly, Erin Quense and Ali Vavala appearing on the lineup card in 2013.
SCOUTING WEST CHESTER• The Golden Rams possess the PSAC East Player of the Year in Altenburger who is batting .317 with seven home runs and 35 RBI.
• Meanwhile, WCU's Amanda Houck was tabbed the PSAC East Pitcher of the Year after posting a 19-6 record this season with a 1.88 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 168 innings.
• Erin Whitman is West Chester's top hitter with a .333 batting average, a team-high eight home runs and 47 RBI.
• The Golden Rams are 1-1 against MEC teams this season as they beat Urbana 11-4 before falling to Charleston 4-3 in Clermont, Florida.
