RECORDS

• Virginia State is 2-3 as it has alternated wins and losses this season.

• Virginia Union has compiled a mark of 3-2 and also alternated wins and losses.

• St. Augustine's is 0-2 after getting swept in a doubleheader against Francis Marion.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• The Mountain Lions went 4-1 at the Shaw Softball Challenge in 2014 as they played Bowie State and St. Augustine's.

• Last season against Bowie State, CU blew out BSU in five innings, 18-0.

• Senior first baseman / pitcher Lacey McDougall hit two home runs and collected a career-high six RBI against the Bulldogs.

• Sophomore catcher / outfielder Carly DiVirgilio also knocked in a personal-best four RBI in the convincing win over Bowie State.

• In the game with St. Augustine's, sophomore shortstop / outfielder Alayna Furr and junior catcher Alyssa Morris both had two RBI in a 12-0 Concord win at Shaw.

• Sophomore pitcher / outfielder Sarah Herndon picked up the win by pitching five shutout innings with four strikeouts and allowing just one hit.

• Last season was the first all-time meeting with Bowie State and St. Augustine's.

• In Monday's doubleheader at Carson-Newman, Morris launched her 26th career home run and her sixth of the season.

• Morris is well ahead of last year's pace of 11 home runs as she didn't hit her sixth home run last season until April 10 against Charleston.

• Morris is batting .333 with six home runs and 13 RBI.

• In game one versus C-N, McDougall pitched her first shutout of the season to elevate her record to 3-3 this season.

• The Chesapeake, Virginia native has thrown complete games in all six of her starts this season, and already surpassed last season's total in complete games of four.

• Along with her 3-3 record, McDougall has ERA of 2.15 with 21 strikeouts in 39 innings.

• In the CU career book, senior outfielder Jessica Seymour needs three stolen bases to pass Angela Mazzella for second all-time in career steals.

• McDougall's next double would move her into fourth by herself as she is currently tied with two other players for two-base hits with 28.

• Concord has a team batting average of .281, however, leadoff hitters for Concord are batting .409 (36-for-88) as McDougall (6-for-9) and sophomore third baseman / first baseman Courtney Purtell (8-for-12) are both batting .667 in leadoff situations.

• Fast starts have been key for the Mountain Lions as they have outscored their opponents 21-5 in the first inning of games this season and are 5-2 when leading after four innings.

• CU has never played Virginia State or Virginia Union in softball while it is 1-3 all-time versus Clarion.
