MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• The Mountain Lions are 6-0 after two wins over the weekend at the Currence Classic in Bluefield, West Virginia. Of CU's six wins, two have come with Concord leading wire-to-wire (Winston-Salem State and West Virginia State).

• Concord has erased first-half deficit of nine points and eight points against Bluefield State and Johnson C. Smith.

• The win over Charleston was sparked by a 17-3 run to end the game after trailing  by 11 with six minutes left in the contest.

• The final win versus Livingstone was CU holding off a rally by LC and converting at the foul line late.

• Junior guard Aaron Miller and senior guard and reigning Mountain East Conference Player of the Week Rob Reed are the top duo in the league in making three-pointers.

• The tandem have combined for 49 made triples this season with Reed making 30 and Miller, 19.

• The next closest duo is West Liberty's Seger Bonifant (22) and Devin Hoehn (11).

• Additionally, Reed is second in the nation  in made three-pointers and is tied for first among Division II players in three-pointers made per game with five.

• Entering games this week, senior forward Terry Hopewell has grabbed at least 10 rebounds in three consecutive games and has four double-digit rebounding games this season.

• The last player to have three straight games of 10 or more rebounds was Dannie Parker at the end of the 2007-08 season.

• The last CU player to have 10 or more rebounds in more than three games was Brian Atkins who had double-digit rebounds in five straight games during the 2003-04 campaign.

• This season, Hopewell is averaging 10.0 rebounds per game, third in the MEC.

• Senior forward Jametrius Wade is the third-leading scorer for the Mountain Lions with 11.5 points per game, but what makes Wade's scoring performance special is how efficient he's been from the field.

• The Detroit, Michigan native has shot at least 50 percent from the field in each game this season and is 24-for-38 from the floor.

• Additionally, Wade has scored at least 10 points in five of six games this season to compliment the outside shooting of Miller and Reed.

• When Concord and Glenville State square off Thursday night, there will be several close connections between head coach Kent McBride and the Pioneers.

• For starters, McBride was an assistant coach at GSC under current head coach Stephen Dye from 2009-2011.

• Furthermore, Dye and McBride used to square off on the hardwood in high school when Dye played at Marsh Fork in Raleigh County and McBride at Wyoming East.

• McBride will also have some family members wearing Glenville blue as guard Luke Campbell is McBride's first cousin.

• Meanwhile, GSC assistant coach Justin Caldwell played with McBride at Wyoming East.

• The last three games between Concord and West Virginia Wesleyan in Athens have resulted in three CU wins, but all three contests have been tight, being decided by a combined 14 points.

• Last season, Concord hit three free throws in the final 1:20 to close out the Bobcats, 66-61.

• Two seasons ago, Mike Boyd and junior guard Cam Shannon each made a free throw in the final 37 seconds to stop WVWC for a 77-75 win.

• And three seasons ago, the largest margin of victory for Concord in recent history versus the Bobcats, 58-52, the Mountain Lions held West Virginia Wesleyan to 32.6 percent shooting.
