WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Concord University women's basketball team fell 69-49 on the road to Winston-Salem State Monday night in a non-conference tilt.
The loss now brings Concord's record to 3-5, while Winston-Salem State improves to 3-4 on the season. '
Concord led by as many as nine early in the first quarter, but WSSU used a 19-7 second quarter run to pull away from the Mountain Lions and take a 33-18 lead at the half. The Rams also shot 53.6 percent from the field in the first half.
Sophomore guard
Danielle Catron had 14 points for the Mountain Lions, while
Lindsey Overbey contributed 11 points and seven rebounds on 5-of-9 shooting. Senior forward
Kylie Molisee garnered her fifth double-digit rebounding game of the season with 10 boards.
Concord will stay on the road when they travel to Davis & Elkins for a 2 p.m tip on Wednesday.
