ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team lost a four-set match (25-22, 25-13, 17-25, 14-25) to the University of Charleston Saturday evening at the Carter Center.
Freshman middle hitter
Brooke Heck paced the Mountain Lions with 11 kills while hitting .556Â for the match. The Huntington, West Virginia native now hit above .400 in five straight matches.
Sophomore outside hitter
Lisette Roldan notched nine kills while sophomore middle hitter
Shea Hoffman and freshman outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus each added eight kills. Hoffman recorded a hitting percentage of .400 for the match, her second best outing of the season.
After dropping a tight first set, Concord responded by rolling out to a 12-4 lead to start set two. It was a well-balanced effort for Concord to start the set as Heck, freshman middle hitter
Lindsay Lannen, Roldan and freshman middle hitter
Nicole Yelland each tallied a kill. The Golden Eagles would also get as close as 13-7 as Concord evened the match.
However, UC won the next two sets to win the match 3-1.
Sophomore setter
Casey Mandeville tallied 20 assists while freshman setter
Jayden Jacobs had 19 assists.
Concord closes out the season with a two-game road swing at Shepherd and Fairmont State Friday and Saturday. Â
