SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team fell in three sets (21-25, 21-25, 12-25) to Shepherd Friday night in Mountain East Conference action at the Butcher Center.
The Rams (15-16, 9-7 MEC) were able to pull away from Concord (8-25, 6-9 MEC) in the first two sets that were closely contested between the teams.
In the third set, SU started began with a 15-5 run to take the third and final game.
Sophomore setter
Casey Mandeville notched 10 or more assists for the 14th consecutive match with a team-best 12 assists.
Freshman middle hitter
Brooke Heck notched six kills while sophomore middle hitter
Shea Hoffman had five kills and three blocks.
Freshman libero
Erin Shannon had 10 digs. Mandeville and freshman outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus each finished with eight digs.
The Mountain Lions travel to Fairmont State 1:00 p.m. Saturday needing a win and some help to get into the MEC Tournament.
