FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team had its season end Saturday afternoon with a three-set defeat against Fairmont State in Mountain East Conference action at Retton Arena.
By virtue of Concord losing and Urbana winning, the Mountain Lions didn't finish in the top eight of the MEC standings to qualify for the postseason tournament.
Concord (8-26, 6-10 MEC) lost 25-21, 25-17 and 25-11 to FSU (23-7, 14-2 MEC).
Freshman middle hitter
Brooke Heck notched seven kills and finished the season with a single-season, school-record hitting percentage of .351.
Freshman libero
Erin Shannon finished with a career-high 32 digs. With her excellent performance versus the Fightin Falcons, Shannon the 10
th-best single-season performance for digs with 446.
Sophomore middle hitter
Shea Hoffman and freshman outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus tallied five kills each while freshman middle hitter
Nicole Yelland added four kills.
Heading into next year, sophomore setter
Casey Mandeville will carry a streak of 15 straight matches with at least 10 assists after dishing out 14 Saturday.
The Mountain Lions do not lose a player on the 2015 team to graduation.
