INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team fell in four sets (22-25, 15-25, 25-20, 17-25) to West Virginia State Friday night in Mountain East Conference action.

Brooke Heck and freshman outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus each had a team-high 11 kills for the Mountain Lions. Heck finished the matched without an error in 25 chances, hitting. 440 for the night.
Meanwhile, Pranckus recorded a double-double by adding 15 digs with her 11 kills.

Erin Shannon notched a career-high 28 kills for the Mountain Lions.
The first set was tightly contested as Concord (8-23, 6-7 MEC) was able to tie the set multiple points, but could never get ahead of the Yellow Jackets (8-15, 4-9 MEC) falling 25-22.
After falling in the second set, CU jumped out to a 16-9 lead in the third set as Heck, Pranckus and sophomore outside hitter
Lisette Roldan combined for five kills during the run. Heck and Pranckus finished out the set by recording four of the five final points.
West Virginia State used to a 15-7 run to end the fourth set to take the match three sets to one.
The Mountain Lions close out their home schedule 5:00 p.m. Saturday against MEC rival the University of Charleston.
