Complete Game NotesATHENS, W.Va. - After a couple of dramatic wins to start the Mountain East Conference slate, the Concord University men's basketball team travels to the Currence Classic hosted by Bluefield State College 7:30 Friday to play host Bluefield State before taking on Johnson C. Smith 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

MOUNTAIN LION NOTES• Concord started conference play 2-0 for the second straight year after winning a high-scoring game with West Virginia State, 109-105, and pulling off a come-from-behind victory against Charleston 69-66 at the Carter Center.
• Senior guard
Rob Reed scored 36 points at WVSU before returning to hit the game-winning three-pointer with one second left versus UC to propel the Mountain Lions to a three-point win.
• Reed scored 25 point against the Golden Eagles and is second in the league in scoring (25.3 points per game).
• Heading into the weekend, Reed and junior guard
Aaron Miller are second and 10th in the MEC in scoring and are only one of two pair of teammates in the conference to be ranked in the top 10 in scoring.
• Along with Reed's 25.3 points per game, Miller is scoring 18.3 points per game.
• Additionally, Reed's 60.6 (20-for-33) three-point percentage and Miller's 48.0 (12-for-25) three-point percentage is ranked third and eighth in the MEC, helping the Mountain Lions to the top-ranked three-point percentage in the league (47.3 percent).
• While Concord has the best three-point offense in the league, CU has prevented its opponents from shooting three-pointers effectively.
• The Mountain Lions have the third-best three-point defense in the league, limiting its foes to 31.8 percent (28-for-88) from behind the arc, and the 28 makes for Concord's opponents are the second fewest in the league.
• With his 25-point performance against Charleston, Reed has now scored 103 points in the first four games of the season.
• The South Bend, Indiana native is the first Concord player to score 100 or more points in the first four games of the season since Javaughn Manuel scored 100 points to start the 2010-11 season.
• Additionally, Reedd has scored 20 or more points in five straight games dating back to last season and is the first CU player to score at least 20 points in five straight games since Dannie Parker at the end of the 2007-2008 season.
• Senior forward
Terry Hopewell is on the verge of moving up the CU record books in both blocks and rebounds for a career.
• Heading the weekend, Hopewell has 68 blocks, good enough for eighth on the all-time list at CU. With four blocks, the Columbus, Ohio native can pass Concord Hall of Famer Sterling Tate for seventh all-time.
• Additionally, Hopewell has 405 rebounds in his career, he can move into the top 30 with nine boards over the weekend.
• In Concord's two previous trips to Bluefield State's Currence Classic under head coach
Kent McBride, CU is 2-2. In the 2013-14 season, the Mountain Lions beat Davis & Elkins and lost to Chowan.
• Last season, Concord took down BSC 86-64, but fell in overtime to Francis Marion 82-79. Miller posted two 20-point games last season at the tournament with 20 against Bluefield State and 21 against FMU.
• Senior forward
Jametrius Wade recorded a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds versus Bluefield State, his first double-double as a Mountain Lion.

Michael Sanchez is trying to become the first CU point guard to commit zero turnovers in consecutive games since

SCOUTING BLUEFIELD STATE• Bluefield State is still in search of its first win of the season after starting 0-4.
• The four losses to the Blues have been decided by a combined 17 points and three of the four losses have come by four or fewer points.
• Chas Harvey is BSC's leading scorer as he is averaging 20.8 points per game while shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 57.9 percent from three-point range.
SCOUTING JOHNSON C. SMITH• After a season-opening loss to Morehouse, JSCU has won four straight and a victory over Newport Apprentic School gave long-time coach Steve Joyner his 500th victory at the school.
• The Golden Bulls also have wins over Tuskegee, Carson-Newman and Benedict. Much like CU's close wins, three of Johnson C. Smith's wins have come by a combined 13 points.
• Stedmon Lemon leads the Golden Bulls in scoring with 22.0 points per game. Lemon scored 30 in his last game versus Benedict.
