RECORDS• Concord goes into the match 3-4-4, with a 2-4-3 record in Mountain East Conference play so far.
• Concord currently has nine points in conference, good for fifth place behind Shepherd with 14.
• Urbana and West Liberty also have accumulated nine points through the first nine games of conference play. Urbana has a 4-7 record overall, with a 3-6 record in conference matchups.
• Friday's clash is important for both teams as they seek to keep up with the pace of fourth-place Shepherd, who holds the final playoff spot in the Mountain East.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES• Concord is coming off of a big result as they gave West Virginia Wesleyan just their second blemish on their record this season in a 0-0 draw at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Complex in Beckley, West Virginia. Wesleyan came into the game with a 9-0-1 record and was ranked 13
th in the country. Inspired defending by Concord was enough as the Mountain Lions gained a crucial point from the fixture.
• In the first rotation of conference games, Concord defeated Urbana 3-0 at home, and tied Shepherd on the road 1-1. Sophomore midfielder
Sarah Akers tallied a goal and an assist for Concord against Urbana, and
Kari Simon netted two goals against the Blue Knights. Freshman forward
Pilar Elias netted the goal against Shepherd, with Simon adding the assist.
• Simon leads the Mountain East in goals (six), points (15), and in goals per game (0.6).
• Freshman goalkeeper
Emily Simpkins has made 22 saves over the past two games and has only allowed 2 goals in that span.
• Simpkins posted a career-high 12 saves against Notre Dame College on October 3.
• Over 54 percent of CU's attempts have been on target, compared to 45 percent for their opponents.
• 11 percent of Concord's total shot output have resulted in goals, compared to less than 6 percent for their opposition.
• Simpkins and the backline have given up only one goal or less in eight of their 11 games this season.
• Simon has started 59 consecutive games for the Mountain Lions dating back to her freshman year.

• After giving up 31 goals a season ago, Concord has only given up 10 goals through 11 games. Concord is currently on pace to allow 15 goals this season.
• The Mountain Lions defeated Urbana on the road last year 2-0. Simon had a goal and an assist in the victory.
SCOUTING URBANA• The Blue Knights are coming off of a 1-0 loss to Notre Dame College on Tuesday, and defeated Wheeling Jesuit 3-2 last Saturday.
• Taylor Greene has two goals and two assists for Urbana this season.
• Urbana has lost four games by a score of 1-0 this year.
SCOUTING SHEPHERD• Shepherd has only given up seven goals to date this season.
• Shepherd has won four games by a score of 1-0 this year.
• Shepherd leads Concord, Urbana, and West Liberty by five points for the final playoff spot in the Mountain East Conference.
