ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team dropped a three-set match to West Liberty in a Mountain East Conference clash Friday night at the Carter Center.
Concord (7-22, 5-6 MEC) jumped out to an 11-8 lead to the start the first set, but a 12-5 run by the Hilltoppers (13-15, 6-6 MEC) made it 20-16 WLU. The Hilltoppers went on to win the set 25-19.
In the second set, West Liberty gained its own 11-8 lead, but the Mountain Lions broke out with a 8-5 run to tie the set at 16-16. However, WLU scored nine of the set's final 10 points to win 25-17, taking a 2-0 set lead in the process.
The Hilltoppers used an 11-4 run midway through the third set to open up a 23-12 lead on Concord, and went on to sweep the match with a 25-13 win in the third set.

Lisette Roldan each had seven kills. Freshman setter
Jayden Jacobs recorded a team-high 14 assists while freshman outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus added five kills and five digs.
West Liberty's Sydney Scherer had six kills and five service aces for the match.
Concord hosts UVa.-Wise 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
