ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team dropped a hard-fought, five-set match to Urbana Saturday afternoon in Mountain East Conference play at the Carter Center.
The Mountain Lions (6-19, 4-4 MEC) won the first set 25-23 as they forced Urbana (8-12, 2-6 MEC) into seven errors in the game. Clinging to a 16-15 lead in the first set, CU ran off four straight points as freshman outside hitter

Lisette Roldan each had a kill to create the separation Concord needed to win the set.
CU jumped out to a 17-11 lead on UU in set two, but the Blue Knights got back into the second set and match by going on a 13-7 run to square the set at 24-24. Urbana was able to win the final two points of the set to even the match 1-1.
Again with the third set going back-and-forth, UU took command of the set by going on an 8-2 run and taking a 23-15 lead. The Blue Knights went on to win the set 25-16.
However, the Mountain Lions assured there would be a fifth set as Concord took the fourth game 25-18. During the set, freshman middle hitter
Nicole Yelland added four of her career-high nine kills to bolster CU to a fifth and deciding game.
Concord won three of the first four points of the fifth set, but UU took the next six points to take control of the fifth set and win 15-9.
Pranckus led CU with 12 kills and 13 digs. Freshman middle hitter
Brooke Heck added 11 kills. Along with her nine kills, Yelland also hit .318 for the match.

Casey Mandeville finished with 17 assists.
Concord next plays at Glenville State 7:00 p.m. Friday.
